Embiid is absolutely more talented. He has a face up game, better foot work, more moves and he can score outside of just power dunking at the rim. He's also a solid defender against smaller players on the perimeter, an area where Shaq stood no chance (Shaq was the absolute worst pick and roll defender ever).

The issue is Embiid isn't putting that talent to full use. He has several more gears he can reach which sucks to watch. It starts with his physical conditioning and mental mind set, he's not the dog that Shaq was who made a living out of murdering dudes in the paint without having second thoughts.

The game is a lot different now though.

It's fair to say Embiid is more skilled than Shaq. No question about it.

Embiid has the handle, ability to finish, can spread the floor, becoming great in passing out of double teams, and is a fantastic defender.

Shaq did indeed suck on pick and roll, he still made 3X All-Defense. He was no slouch + height definitely helped.

I always wondered what Shaq vs Embiid would've been like matchup wise.

If only all that talent translated to winning.

Embiid has a wider array of skills than Shaq but isn't more talented. Shaq might be the most talented player the NBA has ever had. He could be the #1 of all time if he wasn't lazy. That's why him and Kobe didn't get along, because Kobe couldn't stand how lazy he was and how much better Shaq could of been.

The main difference between the 2 is Embid is a bitch and Shaq isnt.
