Rockets are trying to acquire Coby White from Chicago before the trade deadline in two days...
With Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams lost for the season my NBA Title hopes are honestly over.

But if the Houston Rockets can make a good trade or two. Perhaps the 2026 Western Conference Finals is still in play. As bad of a season as it has been with all the injuries. Rockets have lost 8 games too many IMO. But the 2nd seed is still right there for the taking which is pretty crazy to think about it. Had the Rockets just had a healthy season and played up to their potential they'd have challenged OKC for the 1st seed.

Alperen Sengun had 39 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists last night. All-Star snub. But the guy is special when he wants to be. He disappears far too often.

Anyway. Does Coby White excite anybody before the trade deadline? Is he the missing piece for the Houston Rockets?

If you ask kimiko_tan he's on the same level as JB, Maxey, and Cade.

Ask anyone else and they'll tell you he's good but would give you like 15 ppg on an actually good team.

White has had calf injuries on both legs this year and has been cautious to avoid a more serious injury. If you need more guard scoring you should absolutely try to get him. I think he is on the same level as every other 59% TS guard with no defense

Cade? not even the same type of player. id take Giddey over Cade though. That pistons team plays better when Cade isnt playing

White has nowhere near the shot creating ability of Maxey though. Just watch these two create space and you'll see there really isn't a comparison. White looks like an old head rec league hooper slowly jumping backwards and still barely gets space. Maxey just took the Harden stepback, which is already ridicuous, and managed to do it even better with more quickness which is now as good of stepback as there is in the league. Space creation is next level.

There's a reason Coby White isn't leading his ass team, isn't getting as many shots, and isn't an All-Star, and Maxey is. I like White but let's slow down on the comparisons. It's like when Kimmy told me Payton Pritchard is better than Maxey rofl.

The Bulls are trying to get Tari Eason from the Rockets as part of the Coby White trade package.

Rockets are offering Dorian Finney-Smith or Josh Okogie, and one of the two Phoenix unprotected firsts in 2027 and 2029.
2029 unprotected Suns first-round pick has the ability to swap with Dallas unprotected first. The better pick of those two.

Any trade the Rockets make they have to match salaries pretty much perfectly. Because they are at the "First Apron" hard cap.
