I don't even know who the GM is but I would fire them for this alone. One thing to hire a HC for a lot. Another to not give him any rope when your team stinks.

E: just went to the pistons subreddit and apparently Monty was very disinterested in coaching and Piston bear writers were writing about he stopped a trade that would have sent Killion Hayes packing. And apparently Monty told the team he was not interested in coaching when the team first approached him. He only took the job because of the stupid overpay.
