At the end of the day, they stuck with Simmons who was coming off an All-Star season at 20-21 years old after having drafted him #1 just a couple of years earlier. He had all the potential in the world at that point and nobody in their right mind would have dumped their 21 year old All-Star #1 pick for an aging Butler with a bad reputation for being a team cancer. Hindsight is 20/20.

Jimmy could smell the bullshit with Simmons before it became public and well known. He knew he was a soft bitch from the jump. I'm pretty sure Embiid did too, but he had less ability to call him out for it.
