Clippers vs Hornets
As strange as it may sound, getting Blake Griffin back might actually hurt the Clippers short term. They were doing fine without Griffin and actually looked occasionally even better with their new fast pace offense. Now they have lost 2 games in a row (last one with Griffin playing). There`s no doubt that the Clippers want and need Griffin back in their lineup, but until the team adjust again to a new/old style of playing with him, they are likely to have couple of bad games.
It does not help that Matt Barnes is suffering an injury and is questionable to play. Already without Jamal Crawford, it possibly takes one additional shooter away from their lineup. Now this hot and crazy shooting is what the Clippers have done during last couple of weeks. It will change now, while Griffin demands offensive possessions, the tempo of the game will slow down a bit and its not likely too good.
The Hornets are fighting for their play-off hopes and will give everything they got each and every game. They lost last night to Jazz, but the good news is that it was a old fashion blowout, so the starters were pulled out of the game very early and no player played more than 25 minutes for the Hornets. It has not been too bad for the Hornets recently as they have won 6 of their last 9 games.
The Clippers will enter this game as favorites, but with Griffin just coming back they will not be as dominant as the lines suggest. The Hornets are in a desperate mode and will fight to win this game, while the Clippers are in no danger of falling out of the play-off position. It might not be enough for the Hornets to win this game, but we thing they will cover the spread. Take Charlotte +10.5 points
