Free agent James Harden has agreed on a two-year, $68.6M deal, including a player option, to return to the 76ers, sources tell ESPN.

I thought Harden was going to get whatever was left on the table after they acquired strong players with whatever money they had? My source DM told me different. Are we going to see another back track?

$15M discount, to be exact. Allowed the 76ers to actually sign depth and improve the bench this off-season. They had no shot of signing Tucker had he not done that.

Harden could have easily received $40M+ per season, this is well known, and more than just 1 or 2 years on the contract. That goes without question lol. I mean the player option he opted out of was for $47.5M.

It's a good bet for him, as well as helping the team out. He gets healthy and returns to form as he's expected to do and he'll opt out of the second year and sign a big contract next year. If he plays like crap then the team has him for one year and it's an expiring contract easily tradeable. Everyone wins with little to no long term risk.

Glad I can educate you guys on these things. :wallbash:

Remember when Harden demanded a trade out of Brooklyn and people thought he was the problem there. Then the Nets imploded, got swept in the first round without him, and their remaining star players are demanding a trade now as well. Funny how quickly everyone realized he wasn't the issue 🤣

Then Harden goes and takes a pay cut in Philly in order to build a better team to compete.

The haters will find any reason to hate, but damn it feels good B)

As much as I hate to see it, I love the Brogdon pickup for Boston.
