I think you are underrating smarts defensive presence. He was Celtics best perimeter defender, he is not expendable, specially when you get porzingis back, who is a mediocre defender to say the least. The 2 late picks are the sweetner, but this move didnt make the Celtics q better team imo

Speaking some sense into him.

Not to mention Smart was regarded as the heart and soul leader of the Celtics who brought toughness. Of course now that he's gone he doesn't matter and White was better, etc. 🙄

Smart was so good for the Celtics particularly because he dialed back his former terrible shot selection. Having another guy who wants a lot of shots isn’t a great fit with the Jays who also want to put up a lot of shots.

Last time Porzingis was asked to be a stretch spot up big with other ball dominant star(s) he was very upset with his role lol

Can't imagine he likes his role in Boston, but ya never know. They manage to make anyone look better than they are.

@ShamsCharania: Warriors are sending Jordan Poole, a protected first-round pick in 2030 and a second-rounder in 2027 to the Wizards for Chris Paul, league sources said. Golden State is also trading 2022 second-rounder Ryan Rollins to Washington as part of Poole-CP3 deal, sources said.

I mean Porzingis doesn't seem to get along with anyone, it will be a tough task to have him gel with the team IMO because the Jays are definitely not lowering their shots for him

Porzingis is also the type of big who doesn't like doing the dirty work down low, he'll be pissed if they expect too much out of him in that regard
