Jimmy Butler spurned the Rockets last off-season also. Tomball native that talked about returning home.
But when it came down to it he wanted to be an alpha male and didn't want to be Harden's ball boy.
I don't hate on Jimmy Butler but I find it difficult to accept that he didn't want to come home and win.

Outside of the second round of the playoffs when he sort of took on more ball handling and running point (when Kawhi was hounding Simmons) Butler really wasn't used much outside of 4th quarter scenarios. He would go entire games where he was obviously the 3rd or 4th option on the team, which probably burned him up inside.

His main problems with the sixers is that nobody in the coaching staff or front office has any idea what they're doing and there's no leadership. And he's totally right.

Fucking Ben Simmons get rested for a game due to back issues, they bring him back and play 5 minutes against vs the Bucks and now he's gonna be on the shelf for more than a month and will be "re-evaluated" which in sixers terms means he might be out for rest of season.

He talked about how Brett all of a sudden took the ball out of Simmons hands, and then let him handle the rock and run the offense more. Suddenly, and saying it made no sense at all and he didn't agree with it after running with Simmons handling the PG duties all season long....

It was a strange fit, and at the end of the day too many mouths to feed. Jimmy isn't the type of player that will sacrifice his individual glory for the team, he wants to be THE guy. Brett bashing aside, Butler is a super talented player and has A+ work ethic but he's a lot for any coach to handle aka the reason why he has NEVER had a head coach actually like him or have things work out. It's only a matter of time before he spoils the show in Miami, just have to be patient that day will come.

Butler burns every bridge, he's never had one that he didn't burn.

Every player worth a damn in the NBA will want to be the guy.

The main issue is you should focus on here is the organization gave up a bunch of assets to acquire Jimmy Butler and then gave him to a coach that didn't know how use his talents or make the team mesh together. His main issue wasn't with any of the players, he just felt the team had no direction and no leadership.

It's continuing on yet again with just different players.

You'd think it be easy to just get a bunch of shooters for the guy who creates the most 3's in the NBA and the best post up player in the NBA, but nah.

The thing that pissed him off the most was that they asked if anybody could control him before committing to resigning him like he was some wild animal or something.

I don't dislike Jimmy, but everyone knows he's a lot of talk and he's a total asshole to work with. He's selfish, to say the least. His track record of causing issues everywhere he goes is not a fluke, he has never left a team on good terms or without having bad things to say or being hated by his coach/coaches. When it happens once, okay maybe it's the team. When it happens twice, okay well that's not good a trend is starting. Then when it happens a third time with a third team, well it becomes obvious who the problem is.

He can put it however he wants, but everyone knows the mother fucker wanted the ball and wanted to be "the guy" and he wan never going to be that in Philly. It's just a matter of time until he stirs shit up in Miami, no worries. Only on the first of a long relationship out there, let's see how long it lasts.
