The only updates the organization is required to receive to confirm the "mental health" card

- Ben is receiving this style of therapy for [insert diagnosis]. He is coming for the recommended number of treatments per week. The recommendation not to play is still in effect.

That's all the information he is required to give. Article said he was seeing NBAPA mental health professionals so I’m sure he is getting help.

If Simmons/Paul want to get exemption for Simmons to play they can do it. For Philly they have to basically prove that Simmons doesn't have a mental illness, which is borderline impossible. I'm not sure where the line is, but if Philly/the league bring up excommunication for Simmons, that's probably a point where lawyers and arbitration get involved. If the 76ers do go down the arbitration rabbit hole they could lose and damage their ability to attract FA's at the same time. No doubt agents and players alike would not look favorably on going to Philly if they see how much pushback Philly is willing to give in this case.

I dont think anyone right now is judging philly in a negative light based on the egregiously juvenile actions he is taking

Philly not paying someone for literally refusing to play isnt a bad move on their part I would argue more players will respect their stance because the team is doing the right thing to win a chip regardless of what the snowflake thinks

I really doubt Boston would trade Brown for Simmons.

They’d be more likely to offer Smart + a couple other role players and picks
