Morey isn't about to just get rid of him just to get rid of him. He's under contract, and they're ready to ride this out. Trading him means 1) He gets what he wants and it's a terrible look for the Sixers AND the NBA in general and 2) The Sixers lose a 25 year old perennial All-Star and get little return.


Sooo chances of them just moving him just to end all of this? Not happening, and the NBA won't allow it either. The players already have too much control in the NBA, and if Simmons got his way here it would shift even more control to the players.



Cool Simmons will come up with the proof requirement to sit at home and get paid. Enjoy it

What's the proof?

Trying to finesse the system and abuse the mental health card? As if everyone isn't already onto what he's doing? lmao

If he had not just held out for months and demanded a trade that might work....but everyone is well aware of what he's doing now and it's not only not going to work but it makes him look like an even bigger POS because he's setting mental health discussions back for people with real problems.

How hard do you expect it to be for Simmons and Paul to pay off some therapist to authenticate his mental health issues and addressing it through sessions where they could literally just sit on their phones for an hour and be protected by HIPAA code for confidentiality?

So you're saying they'd willingly bribe a mental health professional that is already hired by the team, and possibly be suspended from the NBA completely and lose ALL of his money?

And who is going to prove that? How? 76ers could go for the fraud angle but it would be a waste of time

You're going up a pretty wild conspiracy theory route right now....

What's to stop them from going to the commissioner and offering him a blowjob and $25M to make sure he gets traded to his preferred destination?

They accepted them before....which forced Simmons to show up because he was losing that battle.

They can't win this war. The entire league is against them, and it's killing Rich Paul's reputation as well as Simmons.

You seem to think it's that easy, but it's not...

If that were the case, anyone at any point could pull the "mental health" card and get paid and not have to fulfill their contractual obligation.

The fact that he has been demanding a trade all off-season and held out early on in order to force a trade gives it away....it's too late to pull the "mental health" card now lol, everyone already saw his intentions.
