Luka and the Mavs are definitely playing better of late, but Tatum has been huge too. The MVP race is basically a 3 way tie for 1st.

Embiid has to miss only like 1 or 2 more games the rest of the season to even be a relevant MVP candidate, historically nobody has ever won MVP missing more games than that ratio (assuming full season gets played) then in the last 40+ years the only player to miss more than 10 games and win MVP was Iverson with 11 games missed. Embiid is already at 9 games missed and his team was 6-3 without him out there. Team rating =\= his individual rim protection. Individually his rim protection stats have taken a huge dip. The Sixers have like 10-12 NBA quality players. Maxey would be the 2nd best player on the Bucks, Nuggets, Mavs and that’s the 76ers #3. Sixers are 1-7 on the road with Embiid and winning record without him on the road. Not really a sign of an MVP
