lol what
Harden opted out of a $47.5M option.....took a pretty big pay cut of about $15M this year alone. The same type of option that guys like Westbrook and Kyrie opted IN on.
He was an All-Star and the ONLY player in the NBA to average 20+ pts and 10+ assists per game this past season. All while playing with no off-season camp/training and on an injured hamstring, while playing on the shit show Nets and then being thrown into the Sixers mid-season learning on the go.
There's zero question that Harden could have received MUCH more money than he got had he tested free agency or just forced the Sixers to pay him the max per year, even if it was 2-3 years. Getting him on a 1+1 at just $32M this year is the definition of a discount especially with the contracts being tossed around these days.
He opted out for a longer deal because he knows if he opted in this the last long term contract he will EVER get lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll..
& you know if he opted in he would have zero trade value too lmfao.
