I'm pretty sure the new PS4 is going to stomp everyone's home computer right now. Unless you're some crazy enthusiast who built a folding machine.

I don't think anyone realizes how much power the PS3 and Xbox360 had at release.
realize that the PC isn't even capable of emulating the Ps2 properly at this point. Let alone the Ps3 or Ps4.
PCSX2 is the only ps2 emulator that works reasonably well. but half the games have compatibility problems and won't play.

The bottom line?
Ps4/Xbox,xxx is going to have so much power they will be a relevant system for the next 10 years I'd imagine.

I am also willing to bet that the Ps4 will have more graphics capabilities than my current gaming computer.

There are several Xbox/ps2 emulators that are 100% functional and you can JTAG an Xbox or run a PS3 homebrew to dump BIOS onto your computer and run the entire system from there with ISO files for the games..

Sources? Any Xbox/ps3 hacking forum or personal experience...
