Compare the stats there not the same age or have the same years experience in the game. Kobe had shaq in his upcoming days. Lebron has big Z .
The better basketball player would be Lebron. Nearly a triple double every night... and you can not argue that. Kobe is a great player. But always has great players around him.
By him self he loses first round of playoffs to suns. Just some points to think about

Skill wise, Kobe is certainly better.

But Lebron is younger, is rapidly improving his jump shot and 3 pt shooting, and is a more efficient player than Kobe. His dominating size makes his penetration to the rim nearly unstoppable, a quality which Kobe has, but not to the same extent. The way they play in general is kind of different, so it's hard to compare, but I don't think you can say one is CLEARLY better than the other. They both are excellent passers, make their team better, and are skilled in the ways they get baskets (jumpshots or going to the rim).
