Sounds like it's a tendon tear in Brogdon's elbow, and when the Clippers medical staff got a hold of medical records they immediately pressed the eject button on that trade. Pretty clear sign that Brogdon will be missing time next season. They wanted him, but something major clearly scared them off. It would be interesting if the Celtics downplayed it and he needs surgery after originally saying it wouldn't be necessary.

Also, Brogdon staying with the team after they tried to trade him while he's injured. Awkward lol

Celtics fans have even more reason to dislike Brogdon now..not only did he get hurt in the playoffs and not produce when they needed him most, but he also got Smart traded rolf

This is an interesting narrative you’re trying to push. We should dislike Brogdon because he got injured? One of the more obscure takes I’ve ever read I must admit

Well now you're stuck with Brogdon, who is literallly broken with a tendon tear in his shooting elbow and can never stay healthy by the end of the season. After trying to trade him too which is....awkward. I mean you know when the Clippers of all teams say a player is too damaged to trade for its a problem rofl.

Derrick "8-head" White should have a nice season though with the keys to the starting PG role.

Between Porzingis, Rob, and Brogdon you've got 3 of the most injury prone players in the league. Brogdon is already hurt, Rob will have knee issues soon per usuable, and Porzingis will certainly go down within the first 20-30 games with something like usual.

You’re trying way too hard lol. We just had a massive net win in a trade and you’re trying to turn it into something it’s not.

Both Brogdon and Porzingis played the same amount of games as Embiid did last season. Difference is, you rely on Embiid. He’s your franchise player. These guys are role players lol.

Massive net win? Rofl 🤣

You went from trading a broken bench player with an injury history to trading your second favorite player who suddenly doesn't matter anymore

As a sixers fan, we're happy about this. Smart killed us in the playoffs and without him celtics don't advance, he carried most of that game 6 to keep Boston alive while 8-head White rode the pine lmao.

Getting Porzingis for Brogdon was a massive net win, if it happened. But having to give up Smart for him? Yeah that's questionable at best now especially with Brogdon being actively injured.

2nd favourite player???

We literally just got KP and TWO first round picks for Marcus Smart

What planet are you living on where that’s not a win?

Bro they're LATE picks and they won't do anything for the Celtics next season. You act like you got lottery picks or something. Celtics are in win now mode, and probably won't have Porzingis after next season anyway.

The original trade would have been a huge haul. But giving up Smart for him now makes it eh....especially if Brogdon isn't healthy or reliable which he won't be.

It'll be interesting how well the ball moves. An issue the Celtics already had before in the playoffs where Tatum and Brown play hero ball and the team lives and dies by the three.

Oh ok i see… the Celtics are terrible. We got worse after the trade. We added a 23/8 big man in a position we desperately needed, and moved a great player but from where we had plenty of depth. But I guess that’s bad. That’s what you want me to say, right?

It's not a clear cut win like it was before when it was a matter of dealing Brogdon for Porzingis. That was a no brainer win.

Now it's a matter of seeing how well they play without Smart, who was a very valuable piece to the team and a leader and heart of the team as a lot of C's fans describe him. Even though you overrated the fuck out of him, he was still a valuable piece to the Celtics and as I mentioned before kept them alive in the second round.

With that said, Smarts flopping bitch ass seems like a perfect fit with the Grizz and their defensive tough style of play.

KP over Smart is already a net win. He’s just a better player. 2 first round picks is just icing on the cake. Derrick White proved he was a better player overall than Smart last season so we had a log jam at that position. Brogdon is a completely different player to Smart. We need his fire power and scoring ability off the bench, even if you think he will never step foot on the court again, we need to keep him. Smart was the expendable back court component and the key piece to getting the stretch big and rim defender we sorely needed as Horford is aging.

Plus you keep bringing up Brogdon and KP’s health, but both of them played more games than Smart did last season anyway.
