It's insane to me that people thought losing Al Horford was going to ruin this team. Losing a center that grabs 6 rebounds a game and creates maybe 1-2 buckets in the post per game shouldn't be a reason to worry....
His team defense is certainly missed. No question about that, but that's something we could afford to lose considering our insane perimeter defense. Lost team defense which we were already amazing at, but gained massive size and rebounding, which we had none of.
Playmaking in the post? No worries, we have 4 players that iso and create, easily. Theis screen for 3, Horford screen for 3, what difference? Horford middy poofed once Kyrie arrived. And Timelord on the pick and rolll>>>guy is getting like 2 alley-oops a game... Al's offense was Pick and Pop or 1-2 hooks a game. Brought the ball up sometimes, but not needed when we have 5 players we can give the ball to.
Leadership? Very questionable......look at the Kyrie situation, he didn't do shit about it.
Stevens managed to win 48 games with Amir, Crowder and Sullinger as the forwards...and IT defenses on the court with another midget 6'0 Avery Bradley...yeah, somehow LOL....it's the coaching, team chemistry and toughness that was always the Celtics winning formula.
Not any individual......certainly not Kyrie or a center that simply cannot rebound.
Man, I love this team. Losing Al Horford was such a blessing in disguise.
In saying that, I'd give my left but to have Al (and Mook) back. Baynes too. He would be such a good fit.
