Then it’s safe to ignore the fact that the 76ers have been repeatedly underwhelming in the playoffs

Haven't had Simmons all year, didn't have Tobias or Embiid yesterday as well, and still 5-2 with the #1 offense in the league so far. It's not every day you can be missing THREE max contract players from your starting lineup and still beat a full strength NBA team.

I'm very happy with how the season is going so far considering they've been without Simmons. All we expected was for them to tread above water before the trade deadline so Morey can make something happen, but they're exceeding those expectations (so far).

Daryl Morey since showing up last year:

- Gets rid of the horrible Al Horford contract that no one thought could be moved, trades him to OKC and gets Danny Green in return (who proceeded to shoot 41% from 3pt last season).
- Trades underwhelming Josh Richardson for Seth Curry, and Curry proceeds to be an absolute steal and one of the best trades in recent memory. Plus, Curry is only being paid $8M per year and under contract for 2 more years at that bargain price.
- Drafted Tyrese Maxey (#29), Isaiah Joe (#49), and Paul Reed (#58) in his first draft with the Sixers.
- Signed Andre Drummond to a 1 year contract to be the best backup C in the NBA.
- Signed Georges Niang to a 2 year, $6.7M contract that looks like an absolute bargain as he's already making an impact in the rotation.
- Refusing to give in to Rich Paul and Simmons on their absurd holdout situation, basically making Simmons crawl back like a baby back bitch.

This guy gets it. Morey is a fucking legend, it's not that complicated and he just gets it.

lol but they're both late 2nd round picks who have stuck in the NBA, which is rare for 2nd rounders let alone two of them in the same class. Paul Reed was sent to the G-League last year where he won MVP and is now on the roster (though he gets no playing time behind Embiid and Drummond), and Isaiah Joe looks like a promising sharp shooter who went off in pre-season but doesn't really have a spot in the rotation for some reason (yet).

Morey did well in that draft considering he wasn't handed good spots in the draft.

So he picked up 2 bums that don’t get minutes.
