As you know in pro sports spohomores have a lot more game footage than rookies so after a year of game footage their weaknesses are all out on display.

In basketball rookies tend to favour a side to dribble or a side to shoot with (right or left) so teams tend to work harder to protect their favourite side and they need to spend the year re learning how to do their moves. From our perspective it isn't as clear these adjustments that teams and defensemen make.
