did the police have knowledge of deadly weapons and have reasonable cause to suspect that the blake was a danger to others? everything i've read does not support that, unless there is new information i am unaware of.
if the above was not the case, there was no justifiable prerequisite to use deadly force. we will see as the investigation continues.

Courts decide whether an officer’s use of force was unreasonable on a case-by-case basis, taking into account:
the severity of the crime
whether the suspect posed a threat, and
whether the suspect was resisting or attempting to flee
it is made abundantly clear that the suspect was both resisting and attempting to flee
there is a charge for assault on a police officer on his record, how would they not be aware of that?
