Josh Richardson will be the primary defender on him, as he was against Kemba Walker in game 1 (as well as Thybulle). He's great at locking up smaller quicker PG's especially in P&R situations.

Even so, Richardson is 6'6" with that crazy wingspan. Trae is going to be tested for sure.

76ers defensive rating through 3 games so far this season is better when Embiid is OFF the floor than they were last season when he was ON the floor.

60’s Celtics teams are a common pick for greatest defenses of all-time (Bill Russell, one man defensive scheme). Those teams’ defensive ratings were about 10pts under the league average for the time.

Current league average is 104.9, so Embiid Sixers are almost TWENTY points under league average. It’s a ludicrous, 2k-on-rookie-type number.

(SSS of course, and there’s some other teams playing fantastic D so far. Utah, Orlando and the Raptors have been really good themselves)

104.9 is the league avg as of right now? Sixers opponents average is 102.3? Idk what I'm reading here

Magic is the only team holding opponent ppg below 100

That was last years Bucks with best defense in the league at 104.9DRtg

The Sixers with Embiid on the floor are blowing those numbers out of the water.

Opponent ppg isn't a really good way to measure defense as it doesn't account for pace.
