Offenses were trash back then in comparison and much slower pace.
You'd have two bigs on the floor who couldn't shoot at all. You'd also sometimes have a wing who couldn't either. Putting only 2-3 guys on the floor who can even be a shooting threat routinely, and then running garbage iso ball with guys who weren't even efficient at it lol. The league couldn't shoot anywhere like it can now, the floor was smaller as a result. Plus, posting up and standing around watching was a frequent go-to option for an offense.
Now you've regularly got 5 guys on the floor for a team who can hit threes consistently and also run the shit out of the floor and play space and pace. They'll run you off the floor before you can even catch your breath. Modern day basketball is different. These guys are next level fast.
