Kyrie is currently 20th in usage rate (for reference, Doncic is 16th), which is low for a top 8-10 offensive player.

But he's 9th in assist rate, right ahead of Kyle Lowry and Ben Simmons, who are 2nd and 4th in the NBA in assists.

You can make a very strong argument that Kyrie's passing has become far more elite and lethal than his scoring.

While I agree his inconsistent play hasn’t constituted a lock-in starting role, it’s because he’s coming off of a fucking gruesome injury. How else are you gonna get that confidence back? Dude needs minutes. I could argue for either side about him being a starter or not, but as a Boston fan in New England who knows plenty of Boston fans in New England, the race card makes no fucking sense.

Stephen A Smith said some blatantly racist shit about a black college QB prospect a month or two ago, something like “he’s more of a runner than a passer,” when the dude is a pure passer and almost never runs. It’s gotta be hard to talk all day every day. I like Stephen A, he’s better than Max Kellerman by a landslide. But i’m just a white racist boston fan, oh wait...

His passing is definitely as valuable to this team as his scoring is because we have so many scoring guys (Morris, Horford, Tatum, Brown, Hayward) all capable of dropping 20 on any given night. No one on this team can rack up the assists like Kyrie can.

Everyone knew that from the eye test that he's been doing better, and taking a more concerted effort on rebounding. I mean he's had like 7 games where he has over 18+ PPG and 10 or more rebounds.
