Sure, but at what cost? You lose your identity when you trade away your defensive guys for Harden and some Aussie.

Your reliance on defense is gone. Simmons top tier defender gone. Thybulle top tier defender gone. Embiid will be forced to do it all himself. And he wont be able to. And the Warriors win another title while Morey stares at his wall.

Sixers don't rely on defense anymore, they're not even a top 10 defense this season lol.

Harden is a defensive upgrade over any other guard that we currently have in the backcourt though with Simmons not playing. Curry, Maxey, Shake, Korkmaz are all weaker.

Sixers biggest issue is having a closer at end of games, or someone that can create for themselves and others. Harden checks all of those boxes. No brainer decision to trade for him at the right price.

Last season the top 5 defensive teams (based on defensive rating) were the Lakers, Sixers, Jazz, Knicks and Warriors. Look at how far that got them....none of them made it out of the second round.

I love me some defense, but you gotta be able to score with the best of them today. Defense can't carry you to a Championship like it used to be able to, not in todays NBA.

#9 defense....

76ers 11th ranked defensive rating this season is MUCH better than the Bucks defensive rating was last season.

Sooo yeah, like I said.
