The city has definitely ruined some careers , but a guy like Ben Simmons who has failed to improve his game by not doing the most simple (clearly not for him) fundamental of basketball...I mean he brought this upon himself.

How has he failed to improve his jump shot even slightly since entering the league. He is legit the same player in 2021 as he was in 2016, and that's all effort. He does so many things at a high level but time and time again has been exposed in the post season while showing no signs of improvment

He also really, really, cares about what people think about him. He's so afraid of being embarrased. And that generally doesn't end well for Philadelphia athletes, when you don't perform of course.

The sad part is he didn't even need to elevate his game in the postseason to advance past the Hawks, all he had to do was be himself. It's 90% mental in the NBA, and Simmons failed that miserably. He completely stopped trying to score, stopped even looking at the rim and let his free throw struggles (also mental) get into his head.

If he was aggressive at all against Atlanta they would have won that series for sure. Just attack the rim and hit 60% of your free throws like you normally do, that's all we asked....

I wish Thybulle could get on and add this to his Vlog and record all of this with commentary, it would produce guaranteed crazy viewer numbers.

Very true. It's a shame how it's all going to come to an end

Just another promising prospect with hall of fame ceiling whomst had his career derailed by being drafted to Philly. Many such cases. Turner, MCW, Noel, Okafor, Covington, Fultz, Shamet, and now Simmons.

All of them or half of them were caught brawling a fan while playing for
Philly.

Players around the league being put on notice: you don't have as much leverage as you thought.

Rich Paul taking L after L. Don't ever get big with Morey again.

Wat

So if you can just get the mental part down you're 90% of the way to being in the NBA? Don't have to be tall or athletic?

Embiids comments just now were great

“At the end of the day, our job is not to babysit somebody”

Embiid: “I get paid to deliver…the guys who are here are willing to help me, and I’m willing to help them”

Embiid: “I’d be willing to babysit if someone wants to listen, but that’s not my my job”

He also said he has not spoken with Simmons since he returned...
