Literally have no idea what they are doing.
The Houston Rockets are loaded for a dominant team from 2025 to 2035. They're loaded with incredible young talent all up and down their roster. Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, Cam Whitmore and Tari Eason just to name a few... Now with a head coach in Ime Udoka who knows how to get the most out of young players.
All they needed was a couple decent veterans to help them learn how to win more games and make a playoff push at some point in the next few years. If nothing else Fred Van Vleet is an NBA champion and all-star. Dillon Brooks is an all NBA defender. At worse they'll become much better defensively.
Even if the Van Vleet and Brooks contracts don't pan out. Oh well. It was worth the try. The team will still have all that young talent developing, and hopefully hitting their peak, when both of those contracts come to an end. It's not like the Rockets can't afford those contracts of 3 and 4 years respectively.
People are acting like they didn't have the cap space to splurge this off-season. It was worth the gamble. Sure, I wish there was more talent available in free agency this summer. Next summer was supposed to be loaded in free agency but a lot of those guys are getting re-signed by their current teams.
