So why haven't they gotten out of the second round?

He's had like 4 different "Superstar" sidekicks and none of it panned out

I already told you why, he was stuck with the worst offensive player in the playoffs for 4 years who literally wouldn’t even attempt a fg in the 4th quarter at all and was a common denominator in those losses

It's pretty easy to say that a non treadmill team is a team that goes to the conference finals at the very least. I can't remember off the top of my head but did the Sixers ever accomplish this?

They literally went 7 games on the road against the eventual NBA Champs in the conference semi's, and it took a last second bounce as we all know for them to advance. They got a bad draw getting the Raptors in the second round that game, but what's different about playing them that round or in the conference finals?

No other team even went beyond 6 games with the Raptors in those playoffs. Bucks got 4-2'd in the conference semi's and the Warriors got 4-2'd. The bucks only made it that far because they had easier opponents along the way, but it was obvious the 76ers were as good as any team in the league that playoff run and it would be fair to say they were just a hair (literally) behind the Raptors as the second best team. It's a shame the two best teams faced each other in the second round though.

Plus, if you're not first your last...right? Treadmill teams if you're not winning it all, you don't get a participation trophy for "making" the conference finals.

So you think the 76ers would have beaten the Bucks and Warriors?

Oh, absolutley. Bucks were a great matchup for them and they weren't at the level they are now (didn't have Jrue Holigod either), and the Warriors without KD and then losing Klay too?

Raptors with Kawhi during that run were easily the toughest opponent of the playoffs, obviously. And they went down to the wire of game 7 (on the road) against them.



tl;dr from this thread: Embiid is a generational big man, and tanking for a few years to get him was absolutely worth it lol.
