Giannis and Harden dont like each other.

Remember when Giannis chucked the ball at Hardens head? And Hardens comments about Giannis game requiring no skill etc. Maybe they could put their disdain aside to try to win a title but Harden seems like a snake the way the CP3 shit went down. And his ego is enormous.

But I'm not opposed to it. If that happens then the Rockets will officially be blowing it up and we might be able to snag a solid player with the TPE from them.

Rockets are stuck. Their roster isn’t shit enough to warrant a full rebuild And it’s not good enough to win a championship. The new HC and GM aren’t going to be down to tank. They’re gonna want to prove they can do what Morey and Dantoni couldn’t with the talent on the roster.

Why in the fuck would the rockets make that trade. Only way that ever goes thru is if they literally trade their entire team for draft picks and start over from scratch.

The owner wants to save money also. Tillman Fertitta lost a lot during the pandemic on his many businesses including casinos.
But I do believe the Rockets will "run it back" just one more season. They'll trade Harden before he opts out in two years...

Rafael Stone is more or less the interim GM. Maybe even the full-time GM for next season.
He's been with the Houston Rockets since 2005. Mostly as a legal advisor and consultant.

They should hire the next head coach soon. Jeff Van Gundy is still my favorite for now.
I loved Van Gundy during his first stint as Rockets coach. Yao and T-Mac failed us, IMO.

The 2005 team that lost to Dallas in 7 games was really good. They choked a 2-0 series lead!

I like JVG for coach. I don't think he fits well with Harden though.

Depending on how much influence he'd have as head coach it's possible he'll mold the roster into what he likes relatively fast. But he probably praised James Harden, like he did during many telecasts on ESPN/ABC, to look like the greater coaching candidate during the numerous interviews this past week. Jeff Van Gundy could be hired soon. It's pretty much down to Jeff Van Gundy, John Lucas and Stephen Silas.

I hope Hou blows it up.
Be hilarious to watch Westbricks ego break two franchises.

Proint, you say that Harden and Giannis don't like each other which is true.

But becoming teammates can change a lot though. Remember when Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest used to battle hard against each other? It boiled over during the 2009 NBA Playoffs during that intense Rockets vs. Lakers second-round series that went a full seven games. Artest went chest to chest against Kobe, stuck his finger in Kobe's face and also gave him a slashing of the throat gesture. I thought they were going to get into an all-out brawl but Kobe always kept his composure.

The following off-season Artest (World Peace) joined the Lakers and he quickly became great friends with Kobe Bryant. I don't think the relationship Harden has with Giannis is anymore volatile that they couldn't become friends and play together in the future. Granted they're both alpha males and superstars. Artest was a notch below a superstar at best. He was an all-star and all-defensive player during his best years. His games meshed very well with Kobe Bryant.

By the way I'm still Madmartigan for now. Terps will give me that name change later. Don't lose track of me guys! I'll still post a lot in the future.
