I mean he played the fewest 4th quarter minutes last season lol. Dude was routinely benched after 3 quarters because they'd get such big leads and wouldn't need him anymore. I believe he sat out the 4th quarter in a third of the games he started, which is insane lol.

76ers last season with Embiid: 31-8
76ers last season without Embiid: 16-27

Best team in the league with. Bottom tier team without. The best player in the world when he's healthy on the floor. Literally the definition of an MVP.

That’s bullshit please provide your source that Embiid played the fewest 4th quarter minutes. Sitting out entire games shouldn’t factor into that stat either

Only factoring games he started.

I posted many times last season about it. You can find stats on NBA.com. embiid played very few 4th quarter minutes in comparison because the sixers rolled teams so regularly when he played. How is this news to you?

I dont know how Embiid did in 4th qtrs, but his minutes per game was lower than pretty much anyone to ever average 30+ ppg. At one point last year it was almost Wilt level, his points per 48 minute average.

Was Wilt going to the line as much as Embiid? You would think that Wilt would be going to the line a lot considering he was athletically superior to so many, but somehow I doubt he matched Embiids ft per game

Wilt 11.4 FTA per game in his career.

Embiid 10.1 FTA per game in his career.

Nice would you know that without googling it?

It’s still striking as very odd that someone like Wilt who defenders had absolutely no choice but to foul barely had a higher FT attempt per game average than Embiid

This is also considering that Wilt primarily attacked the rim while Embiid is out at the 3 pt line and generally loves to get into his mid range jump shot

TLDR they give Embiid the whistle of a guard

Wilt wasn't near as efficient of ft shooter as Joel. So Wilt had to do a lot more from the floor.

Blazers, Nets, 6ers... wonder if anyone hit for that parlay in Vegas?

And defenders have a choice to do anything but foul embiid? He moves like a wing, has insane footwork of a guard (ty soccer background), and is way bigger/stronger than everyone. Guys that are quick enough to stay with him are too small, and bigs that a big enough to battle with him are too slow footed to not foul.

Plus, drawing fouls is a skill too. Defenders have to play up on Embiid, hes one of the best mid-range shooters in the game. He also knows they have to play aggressive to stand a chance of contesting his shots and easily catches them "with their hands in the cookie jar" often. You didn't see Wilt facing up in a triple threat position from outside like you do Embiid.

Plus, let's be honest with ourselves here. The "defense" you'd see from teams in Wilt's era was....comical lol. Nowhere near as complex as the shit these days with rotations and trapping.
