he's also missed almost a full season worth of games over the last 2 seasons and made 3 All-Star appearances in his career

that's the resume of a #2 option on a Championship team btw

Embiid and Maxey both averaging 30+ PPG in the playoffs through 5 games. Insane.

I know only Kobe and Shaq did it before through 3 playoff games. Not sure about 5 games though.

Currently, NBA playoff top scorers: Maxey is #2 at 32.4 PPG and Embiid is #3 at 31.8 PPG.

Maxey is probably going to be a way better #2 option than peak Middleton ever was once he develops because of his speed

That's a fair statement. Maxey isn't going to be a #2 for long, if he's even one now rofl.

Middleton was clutch as fuck for the Bucks during their championship run. Clutch and their closer.

We’ve been over this… Middleton is on the bottom of the talent pool of #2s that won a title if you really reflect on every team that won a title

Yes he was great for that run but how sustainable was that when he missed over 80 games since then? He’s also had a few bad games in the playoffs since that title. He has been good in the Indy series but he has contributed to the Giannis injury by missing so many games over the last two seasons. Missing a key player puts added pressure on Giannis to produce more, with how violent Giannis plays to attack the basket it was only a matter of time that he would get injured

We're only talking about that title run.

Middleton was magnificent. Clutch, and the closer for them.

We know he has fallen off after.

lol the bottom line is I would have flipped Middleton while his value was high after the title and I was right to think so. they turned down a deal involving Khris going out and Haliburton coming in, this was the offseason of 2021-2022
