Funny enough, someone like Phil actually had the nerve to claim that Simmons "can't succeed without Embiid"

In the 17 games (including game 3 of the 1st round of the playoffs) Ben played without Embiid last season, he averaged 21/10/8 along with 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks on 55.3% from the field.

This season without Embiid we saw him continue similar success, putting up even better numbers without Embiid.

Sixers won't trade one of them, so they have to try to figure this out.

Except they're not, they're just more impactful offensively as scorers but not overall.

You see, that's the issue is that ESPN casual fanboys that watch Sports Center highlights think shooting and highlights as a scorer with high PPG totals is what defines a player lol. While it's certainly a big part of the game, it's far from everything. Regardless of what they do in every other aspect of the game, or what they do in the other half of the game playing defense.

Trae and Kemba are defensive liabilities, sure they can put up points and shoot but they give a ton of that right back on the other end (as indicated by the NEGATIVE points saved).

Yeah I guess NBA players and the media are casual fanboys as well?

Kemba is not a defensive liability either. Watch the game before you talk.

You're just basing it off the All-Star voting results.

And yes Kemba is a weak defender, always has been, in fact he has been one of the worst defensive players in the NBA his entire career. The Celtics do a good job of hiding and covering that up because Brad Stevens is a great coach, but at the end of the day Kemba isn't getting assigned to defend a #1 scorer and not getting abused by him lmao.

Marial Shayok finally called up from Delaware

Jesus fuck about time, I dont know why Zhaire Smith was called up before he was? Shayok is averaging 23.3 PPG in under 30 minutes per game in the G-League and is a good shooter. You would think he would have received the opportunity earlier considering this teams needs?

I’m basing it off the opinions of the Media, the players and the fans. As well as my own expert opinion. Also basing it off current league standings. Philadelphia are majorly underachieving and Simmons can’t carry a team of very talented players.

Because they have the #1 defensive guard in the league, Marcus Smart.

Very talented players doesn't go far when you have questionable coaching but most importantly a roster with a lot of deficiencies.

Simmons is not on a roster that complements his game well. Look at how the Bucks built around Giannis. They said okay he can't shoot, and he relies on driving to the rim and killing teams inside and attacking and they gave him a bunch of shooters and guys that can space the floor. Brook Lopez turned into a legit stretch 5 who just stands on the perimeter on offense.

This is why Simmons thrives when Embiid isn't playing. With proper spacing and a roster built around his strengths he would be on a different level producing. Right now we're trying to fit a square into a round hole.

Either way, Kemba is 29 and playing in his 9th NBA season. Simmons is 23 playing in his 3rd NBA season. One is a 9 year NBA vet playing at his peak, the other is playing in his 3rd season and isn't even sniffing his best years. Enjoy having this debate while you can rofl.

p.s. how is it that i know who you are so quickly just by the convo we have.

Hello my friend.

Thoughts on the username? Maybe a rating /10?
