Keep in mind the Sixers defense last season was ass, middle of the pack. Partially because guys like JJ can't defend their own shadow.

This season it's a top 5 defense (when Simmons is playing of course).

If you're talking about JJ Redick, New Orleans came with an offer of multiple years and each year with annual average of about 3mil more than what he was expected to get here.
