Averaged about 25 PPG over the course of 3 deep runs as the clear #1 option with the Heat
Eliminated the Bucks and Celtics with a lot of the same core players as their Championship teams
What do those have to do with productivity in Philly?
Jimmy was never a good fit on the Sixers. They were great talent wise, but fit wise it didnt make much sense. You had Embiid, Simmons, Tobias, and Butler. None of them were big time 3pt shooters, only Tobias and he wasn't high volume by any means (maybe 4-5 3PA per game). JJ was the only big time floor spacer. Remember this was before Embiid really refined that elite midrange game into one of the best shooters in the league. He was still dependent on low post scoring, which was not ideal with Simmons and Butler being so reliant on scoring in the paint as well.
With that said, on talent alone they were a few bounces away from being NBA champs. Whoever won that series between them and Toronto was winning it all. What a wild series that was.
