Notice you’ll always see Sixers shying away from making any assertions about the 76ers competing for a ring. Even he knows to avoid setting that expectation because it’s highly unlikely

They can certainly compete for a ring as is, and be one of the best teams in the league as it stands. They're a top 5 betting favorite as it stands. But this isn't even a finished roster, Morey still has tricks up his sleeve as he finally is putting together HIS team and not just a team of shit contracts or disgruntled players that he inherited. The cap flexibility they have along with actual draft capital now is a beautiful thing.

Nick Nurse is the x-factor though. We're seeing just how great Embiid is when he's in an offense with actual off ball movement and spacing. Embiid is out here dropping 35 PPG and dishing out more APG than your boy Giannis has ever averaged in a season.

Giannis also has way more playoff wins than Embiid while being younger rofl

Maxey is great, all pro, makes thread

Then Maxey isn't accountable for when they lose cuz hes young.
Dude will always make statements for which he can back out of without any accountability. That's how he rolls.

No doubt Embiid is getting a slight uptick offensively with the 76ers getting extra 3 offensive possessions per game under Nick Nurse.
He is taking full advantage of that with his league leading USG% rate. Another uptick from last year.....so his stats going up with more possessions and usage should not shock anyone lmao...

But already having to hear "They can certainly compete for a ring as is, and be one of the best teams in the league as it stands."
 come on man...
When the time comes, it won't matter that he averaged 35 on 54%. That's not so different than the 33.1 on 54.8% that he dropped last year. (25.5PPG 42% playoffs)
Playoffs he'll drop 28-30 max on 45%ish because he won't get gifted FTS + be eliminated round 2

Best thing he could do is try a little less harder during these regular season games so that he is actually healthy/rested come playoff time. He isn't going to make it(as usual) if he's going to work this hard for another regular season award.

And yeah, where's the Maxey blame? He was ass in 2 of the 3 games without Embiid against real competition. Can't believe you compared this guys numbers next to MVP D-Rose....

If you're going to make wild claims at LEAST do a little research before hand. Embiid doesn't get free throws in the playoffs???? He literally AVERAGES 10 FTA per game in the playoffs over the last 4 years. Guess what he averages in the regular season over that span? 10.8.

There are no gifts, the man is the most unguardable player in the game and defenses throw multiple players at him which results in a high foul rate. Look at the first round of the playoffs last year where the Nets legit said they were gonna throw 3+ players at him every posession and force the ball out of his hands as soon as he crosses half court. As a result, the Nets got smoked because everyone else was eating. But the box score you look at won't tell you that, it won't tell you how much attention Embiid draws to help his team win. Of course he needs guards that actually show up to do that, and James Harden straight up disappeared in most of the games vs the Celtics the same way Ben Simmons did lol.

As far as Maxey goes, he's averaging 27 PPG over the last 13 games without Embiid over the last two seasons.

"Playoffs he'll drop 28-30 max on 45%ish because he won't get gifted FTS + be eliminated round 2" -- where are you seeing "Embiid doesn't get FTs"? Because I see 2 statements going together saying his PPG will drop along with his efficiency since he won't be gifted FTs. Not that he won't get FTs, but actually having to work harder for them instead of getting them via bait really ruins him come playoffs. As always.

10 FTs per game last 4 playoffs....but 23.6 PPG on around 45.5%/20% over the last 2
Harden doesn't show up? When will Embiid

And why does it matter how a 14-17 team plans to guard someone? lmfao

Bro what? You make NO sense..are you reading what you are posting? Embiid gets as many FT's in the playoffs as he does in the reg season, and the pace and posessions are slower and fewer in the playoffs too (everyone shoots worse and sees fewer posessions/shots per minute). Period. You're talking about gifting this or whatever and making no sense.

Embiid has been SOOOOOO much better in the playoffs than Harden has. Embiid had had stretches of pure dominance. He was +90 in a playoff series vs the Raptors where they LOST somehow. His team got smoked when he was off the floor but dominated when he was on it. Same goes for several other playoff series, not to mention where he is almost always a force defensively. You're looking at raw PPG not even realizing why that number is down. Nobody draws more double and triple teams in the playoffs than Embiid, and it's not even close. We watched the Nets throw their entire team at him every posession, of course he wasn't going to score much 🤣

So yeah, I'll ask again...when will Embiid get a guard who shows up in the second round? Ben Simmons and.James Harden shit the bed, big time. You give Embiid a Jamal Murray playing at the level he did for Jokic and Embiid would have a ring without question.

I think you completely missed the point he was making.
