Like a decade ago my irl friend (the one who is/was WrathOfGod1337) spent like $100 on forum gold, using it to buy items for his HC sorc.

He splurges on gear (overpaying to get it fast) and comes to meet me in Baal throne room as soon as he's equipped and respec'd. I guess he wasn't used to playing an energy shield sorc because Baal burned all his mana and killed him immediately. I couldn't even do anything. Blink of an eye, $100 gone. It was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. I tried to loot his body but couldn't get the charms, so he rage-quit and said I could have his gear lol.
