I disagree. The Western Conference sort of sucked from the 6th through 8th seed. Hell, the Rockets nearly made it without a superstar. With Carmelo the Nuggets are still a playoff team IMO.

While Ron has been an absolutely incredible on defense this game, gotta give some credit to Kobe for his work on Lawson.

Bottom line: You can't win an NBA championship without a superstar. It's a superstars league. Teams like the Nuggets and Rockets are fun to watch. They can beat the elite teams like Lakers, Spurs and Thunder on any given night - no doubt about it. But in a 7-game series the best they can hope for is losing a Game 7. No real chance to win it all. I wonder who can land a premier superstar first between the two teams. I've been to both Houston and Denver (two great cities). I think most NBA players would like to live in either place. They shouldn't struggle to land the big-name free agents in the near future.
