Simmons was a good rookie. Somehow he managed to get worse every year since then
Definitely hasn't gotten worse, but unfortunately he just hasn't improved statistically. Defensively he's better than ever, but that's just not enough for a franchise cornerstone.
It's becoming IMPOSSIBLE to defend him anymore. The Sixers are still waiting on Simmons to show up and break out and take that next step and it's like he's cool with where he is. Easily the most frustrating player because he could be so damn good if he just acted like he cared but man he doesn't seem like he wants it.
Sad part is we don't even fucking care about him not shooting jumpers anymore. Fine, we get it, you don't want to shoot. But for fucks sake BE AGGRESSIVE AND ATTACK THE RIM!!!! 4 shot attempts last night? 7 FGA per game for the series? HOW?
Embiid embodies the Philly culture, he is a Philly guy through and through and fits in. Hard working, gritty, doesn't back down. Simmons is like the complete opposite, dude has that California vibe going way too laid back and complacent and he gets absolutely shredded by the Philly media for it.
