They are both great players, but i honestly think its hard to compare the two. Lebron has some strengths over kobe and vice versa. But, you can't say things like kobe can't defend as well against bigger players because kobe is a guard and lebron is like a small forward. It is true that Lebron gets more stats and that is because he is on a worse team. Some of you Lebron fans are stating that "oh the cavs team isn't as good" while ur saying Lebron gets more stats than Kobe. When you are on a better team, you most likely won't get as good of stats because your team does most of it for you. In the other perspective, if you on a bad team, think about it, ofc you'll own and get a bunch of stats. It is also true lebron has the potential to surpass kobe someday perhaps, but there is no certainty. Try not to be so bias and stop hating so much.

It's hard to compare the two since they play different positions. I would say LeBron though, because he is one of those guys that makes his team a contender every year. Statistically he is better, and he does more for his team. Overall, LeBron is still young and if he had anywhere near a good team and coach that Kobe had every year he won a championship then he would win just as many rings if not more.

I hate to be captain obvious to you kids but...

Kobe didn't even start until his 3rd year in the league. He wasn't even the Lakers 6th man until his second year.

LeBron just finished his 7th year. He has started all 7. LeBron was drafted onto a bad team. Hell, Cleveland was trying to make Shawn Kemp their marquee player at the time. They were horibad. LeBron has done more with what he's been given than any player in the league to date.

So that said, let's not compare apples and oranges here. Let's look at their 1st 7 years.



It's fairly obvious LeBron is a better all around player when you go through those stats.

Oh BTW... LeBron > Kobe in the '10 play-offs.

ofc lebron scored more points because hes on a shittier team. take away lebron's athleticism, hes nothing, all he can do is drive to the basket with his strength and make pretty plays. kobe is all about his basketball ability and skills like michael jordan (those fade away jump shots).
and clearly 4 rings > none
and btw kobe is averaging 32 points in the playoffs.

You can't compare the two because they haven't played the exact same amount of years. Kobe has 7-8 more years on lebron so he also has a lot more experience. Comparing the two is like comparing a varsity player to a kid who plays on a JV team. You just can't do it yet. This doesn't even include the fact that they play on different teams and have different play styles.

Edit: Kobe is also coached by Phil Jackson WHO COACHED Michael Jordan giving him a huge advantage over Lebron. If Lebron was able to be coached by someone like Phil Jackson then he will DEFINITELY be better than Kobe but for now you can't compare the two.
