Somebody deserves credit for that. Usually we associate the best record with an MVP caliber player also.
And I mentioned this a while back. Why not Donovan Mitchell or Rudy Gobert? I think Gobert is more fitting.
MVP is the closest thing the NBA has to an Offensive player of the year award, and at this point 14.4 PPG/13.5 RPG/2.8 BPG is amazing numbers, but are those MVP numbers?
If anything, Gobert should win DPOY, although I think there are players like Giannis/Simmons who can make a case for that.
