The league is all about space and pace. You have a big man out there that doesn't spread the floor, doesn't handle the ball, can't face up and beat a guy off the dribble he all of a sudden becomes a lot more useless than he would have been in the 90's.

Embiid is a post up machine, he posts up more than a lot of entire teams do over the course of a season but he also spaces the floor a bit and always takes guys off the dribble and faces up hitting that mid range.

Shaq would be great regardless, but he was better off in that era and not the current one. That era was all about the post up and allowing bigs to just sit in the paint and not be as responsible for defending elsewhere and moving their feet. Bigs now gotta work and have to MOVE.

Before the Charles Barkley rule aka 5-second rule. You could use your size and strength to dribble your back side towards the basket.
LOL, back then you had to be a man's man to defend the post. A guy like Shaq could just destroy you and eat your lunch while at it.

Shaq was always bitter about Dwight having the same nickname. Superman. Even though Shaq had tons of nicknames. Plus some of the similarities bother him. Both drafted No 1 by Orlando then end up at the Lakers.

To this day, I still am amazed at several things.

1) Stephen Jackson quite literally walking away unscathed with some of the most fucked up anti-Semitic remarks. I guarantee if roles were reversed, some white guy talking shit about BLM would've been ejected from real life.
2) Karl Malone is still respected by NBA standards despite being one of the shittiest pieces of shit ever, and an absolute dead beat dead. Hated his son, and until he became an NFL player, didn't even acknowledge him. And he also partake in raping a 13 year old girl...
