Barring injury, it's likely that LeBron will most certainly surpass Kareem for most points in NBA history in the next 3 years. Likely in his 20th season.

He will also break into the top 3 in assists in NBA history.

I just have a hard time with the whole "Jordan is 6-0" thing, because 6-0 means he failed to even make the Finals 9 other times. More times than not in his career he didn't even win in his own conference (made it 6 times in 15 seasons).

Making the Finals is better than losing before even getting there, people just have to keep that in mind. 6-0 looks awesome and all but when you really think about it how is that better than 6-6 would be. The goal is to make the Finals first and foremost, and Jordan failed to do that a lot.

It seems like you’re putting more of a emphasis on getting to the finals than actually winning the finals. Making it to the finals is better than losing before even getting there, yes, but it’s not better than actually winning. Imo, Jordan having 2 more championships than Lebron is more impressive than Lebron having 4 more finals appearances. I would disagree with your last part, the goal every year is to win the finals every year, not get to it.

If Lebron gets two more rings & evens things up at 6 a piece, it’ll be hard not to call him the GOAT

let's frame it this way

lebron has been to 10 nba finals in his 17 nba seasons

(i'll pause to let that sink in)

jordan went to 6 in his 13 full seasons

so what record is better, 10-7 or 6-7?

Lebron getting to the finals 10x is more impressive than Jordan’s 6x, sure, I wouldn’t argue against that.

You’re strictly looking at appearances though, & leaving out wins.

Winning is more impressive than getting there.

6 is better than 4.

i understand, i just think people discount how impressive lebron is.

if one team made the finals 10 times in 17 seasons, they'd be considered a dynasty.

lebron has done it on 3 different teams. he is the dynasty.

When did Jordan ever go up against a team where the #1 player was arguably outside of the top 10 players?(Finals)

When did Jordan ever go up against a team where the 2nd and 3rd best players were injured the entire series? (Finals)

how is the level of competition lebron's fault?

he goes to 9 straight finals in the east, people say the east is weak so that accomplishment doesn't mean anything

lebron goes to the west, wins the finals, people say his finals competition is weak so that accomplishment doesn't mean anything

what more do you want from this man?

The East was weak, I’m not sure any team other than the big 3 Celtics were ever a real threat to a LeBron team. That’s not LeBrons fault but it also isn’t a credit to him going to the Finals. Jordan lost what 3 times in the ECF to the Pistons?

Basically is it more impressive to beat who you should beat rather than lose to a better team?

When LeBron got mopped by the Warriors and Celtics, and even to the Spurs, the rationale from LeBron stans was that his competition was better and therefore justifiable that he lost. It’s a double standard in this debate

The only times LeBron stans didn’t try to justify his losses were Dallas and Orlando

Jordan has one thing LeBron will never have....

A Killer instinct

If you scored on Jordan in practice he would make it his mission to end your life.

Lebron regularly doesn't hustle back on D and takes plays/games off and only puts it into high gear when he has to

That's my biggest reason I'll never put him in the same argument as Jordan
