Covington won't be cheap, neither will Rose or Gallinari and the 76ers are interested in all 3. Perhaps they will mortgage their future, we'll see.

Yeah, but the 76ers and Mavericks have the pieces and picks to get a deal done.
I wish the Rockets had some assets to deal for Covington. We've got little. LOL
I'm jealous of the 76ers. They're talented with the ability to make a big trade.

What assets do the 76ers have? Whoever gets Covington will have to overpay, and I am perfectly okay with that if the 76ers do so.

Giannis is a beast, I can't deny that. Guy is easily top 3 in the NBA right now.

But stopping him, or at least slowing him by using a center is something we as Sixers fans know all too well.

You’re delusional if you think just a good center is the key to stopping him. The Raptors had unusually elite team defense even for NBA Champion standards. They boasted an absurd -10 defense in the playoffs. The 76ers are not even close to that mark... and the Bucks have gotten better by improving their depth

And Middleton isn't as much of a brick layer this year.

Go Sixers!

You're right, just a "good" center is not the key to stopping him. An elite one, like Embiid, with the versatility and footwork and lateral quickness to guard beyond the paint, while also destroying anyone that tries to score on him at the rim, is the key.

Also, it helps when you have big time defenders like Simmons, Richardson and even the rookie Thybulle in the backcourt, and also a guy like Horford up front with you. Literally 4 of the Sixers 5 starters are some of the best defenders at their positions. Embiid and Horford make slowing Giannis much easier.

Then why are the Sixers nowhere close to the Raptors 2019 defensive stats, if they are as good as you claim? Let me guess, built for the playoffs.

Because a team goes beyond 4 individual players.

Also coaching does too

As well as having those guys all play together at the same time, which has not happened much this season.
