Lakers vs Magic game 4 NBA Finals, they have to go full court for a 3 with less than 10 seconds. Gasol is in the game
Giannis in-bounder 2017 NBA playoffs vs Celtics to Middleton hits the game tying 3 with 1 second remaining....
you're honestly just full of shit. there is an abundance of examples here where coaches leave non-shooting bigs in the game. including Pop & Phil
So what's the reasoning for leaving Simmons in the game last night? Please, tell us.
What purpose does it serve with 6 seconds left needing to go full court, for you to leave a guy who doesn't shoot threes at all? Honestly, i have yet to hear your reasoning besides "THIS IS WHAT POP AND PHIL DID!!!"
Simple basketball 101 coaching decision: You have a guy who is struggling from the FT line in the playoffs and doesn't shoot threes at all. You're down 3 with 6 seconds remaining and no timeouts, with the full length of the court to go. If you leave him in, you risk them fouling him if he gets the ball which would leave no time remaining even if he did hit both free throws (a big IF), and if you just let him play off ball the defense will just leave him and double the shooters making it even harder for them to get a clean look.
