Bucks were dominating the Raptors 2-0 before the backdoor sweep as well. Not saying it will happen but it’s not over until 3-0 especially since the Nets only protected home court. Going down 0-2 on your home floor is an entirely different situation
Nick Wright said Jokic was the worst MVP of the last 40 years, only for it to turn out to be Giannis all along.
If he doesn't turn it around and redeem himself in game 3 & 4 this guy is going to have to deal with a major shit storm. Talk about being exposed last night against a super soft defense with Blake Griffin up front anchoring the paint, holy shit. Blake just held his ground and played back and Giannis couldn't even counter it with a floater or running hook or anything, he just has to bully his way to the rim or else it's ugly. If he doesn't respond big time in Milwaukee there will be serious questions about building a team around a player like Giannis as your #1 guy due to his limitations.
I'm loving every bit of it too, because you are always the first person to point out how Ben Simmons flaws as a non-shooter and how his inability to space the floor is a major issue in the half-court, etc, etc and it will be the downfall of the Sixers. Yet here we are, looking at Giannis (the Bucks best player and leading scorer) who can't do SHIT in the half court and literally just relies on dropping his shoulder and bullying his way into the paint. Watching Giannis try to create for himself and do anything outside of the paint has to be the ugliest thing we've ever seen, he has mediocre handles and his playmaking ability setting other guys up leaves much to be desired (especially considering the attention he draws in the paint it should be easy to find the open guy). I thought Milwaukee could take the Nets in this series utilizing their size, but man last night was just unreal how much the Nets bullied in the paint with that small front court.
