I'll say that Embiid can and will shoot the basketball, maybe even more than he really should to accommodate Simmons, yet we talked about this years ago that Simmons and Embiid want to operate in the same space. Simmons needs a center like Towns to maximize his offense.

"I talked to somebody close to Ben the other day, and they said, 'What is the purpose of him showing up at this point? With all that has happened in this offseason. If Ben even shows up, let's say it's a month from now or two months from now, he has no intention of ever doing that - but what Ben Simmons are you going to get at this point? Mentally, emotionally, spiritually, is he going to be the same guy he was for you in the past few years?"

That wouldn't even work because he's not even showing up at the facility or working out with the team. He's not even coming close to Philly, dude has been in LA since the season ended lol.

There's zero reason to trade him right now, his value can't go any lower and it's the worst time to expect a trade. When the season comes around and teams start moving pieces and getting desperate a better offer will come around. Other star players get disgruntled, teams aren't happy with their rosters, etc. And if not who cares, then we let him suffer and he destroys his own career because at this point most Sixers fans are fine with him just rotting.

Sixers holding strong and not bending to his demands is a statement for the league too. You know DAMN well the NBA and other front offices don't want to see Simmons successfully force his way out in this manner and further give players more power.

And in the meantime? Maxey's value shoots up because he'll be given a starting PG role and should have himself a nice breakout sophmore season.
