I had deer once it was pretty good. It was a little gamey (that how you say it?), but I'm not used to eating that kind of meat. I liked it the first try so I bet it would grow on me eventually.

Yeah, a lot of the gamey taste can be in how its dealt with after the kill. Deer and big game in general, need to bleed out for 3-5 days to age the meat and that takes a lot of that taste out. Also how it is prepared makes a difference. Real garlic draws most of the rest of the gamey taste out. I don't care for it if it has that gamey taste. Over cooking can bring it out too, and make it dry and tough. I never eat venison cooked more than medium, unless it has been canned or in a crock pot.
