I don't see any incentive for the Wiz to trade Wall for Westbrook when hes gonna put a ceiling on any team he joins. I would rather commit to a Wall resurgence and hope all this chatter about him being healthier than ever is actually true. If I'm the Wiz, I'm not making the trade straight up, if Houston wants picks in addition to Wall I laugh at them and hang up the call.
Russell Westbrook is still an explosive player if he's healthy. In January and February he was playing at an MVP level averaging 30-8-8. For that two-month stretch he was playing better basketball than James Harden and carrying the Rockets. Then the pandemic hit in March and the NBA shut down. Russell Westbrook went to the NBA bubble coming off COVID-19, said he didn't practice for several weeks, and then his right quad strain caused him to miss most of the first round vs. the Thunder. And then he was mostly ineffective vs. the Lakers in the second round. Rondo outplayed him at times. Please! A healthy Russ destroys Rondo easy.
I think with Russell Westbrook you're still guaranteed a shadow of a superstar. He can still perform at an MVP level.
Add that MVP Russ with Bradley Beal and the Wizards could be a fun team that reaches the Eastern Conference Finals.
With John Wall you're most likely getting damaged goods. I don't even know if he'll be an all-star again. Much less a superstar. More of a gamble, IMO.
