I work for a robotics company. We automate warehouses. AI doesn't scare me. You either adapt, or you fall behind. I'm sleeping just fine at night. Kids will stop going to school for mundane easily replaceable jobs and start going for things that actually impact the future.
A lot of propaganda in that post though. Really trying to scare us. The U.S. is and will continue to thrive. Millions will continue to fight to come here to build a better life.
I helped design safety and facility identification for 13 states on the east coast, thousands of places are planning to layoff huge swaths of employees and these are white collar jobs not "mundane easily replaceable jobs"
this has been in motion since 2018 when I began working for facilities in SFID. I have since moved on to non-profit work because building community resiliency and mutual aid is going to be immensely important when shit will hit the fan
you can lie to yourself only for so long, or convince yourself that since your job is fine everything is all good for the whole country
the people developing the AI and the execs deploying the AI and eliminating jobs aren't doing anything about UBI or larger societal issues from this labor market disruption
they mainly care about winning in their markets, let someone else worry about unemployment and turmoil which comes when millions of people lose their jobs/homes
meanwhile the rich are fortifying their properties, preparing for armed defense. they say these things out loud and you call it propaganda? what a joke
