Celtics have a west coast trip left on the schedule whereas the Raptors don't. It seems improbable that the Celtics will be able to close the 2.5 game gap in the standings.

BUT ... that could actually be a good thing. Cleveland is poised to slip to 4th/5th. Sets the matchups back in the Celtics favor.

Cleveland is barely over .500 since acquiring Nance/Hill/Hood/Clarkson (6-5 I believe excluding Hawks game) and they have some tough games coming up as well.

The Celtics conveniently depleted lineup was by design. A loss tonight was more helpful than a win. The Celtics are unlikely to move from 2-seed regardless. But giving the Pacers a win helps keep the Cavs out of the 3 spot. At this point, we gotta hope that the Cavs don't slip all the way to 6 or 7.
