The Celtics TEAM defense was tremendous, their game plan was to double and trap KD every time he touched the ball and if you watch the videos breaking it down you can see their entire defense revolved around prevent KD from receiving passes in decent position.

Celtics are loaded with good defenders, and they basically denied him every game. When he did get the ball they would just send an extra defender and trap. It was brilliant work, but you have to have the players to do it and the Celtics do.


If you swapped KD and Tatum, you would have seen KD go off for his usual 30+ a game. Nets defense is absolute dog shit and Nash didn't adjust worth a damn.

Great Celtics defense n hustle! Nets got no defense, Kyrie too small n hungry, Seth curry soft n too little, Andre Drummond can’t defend pick n rolls like prime Dwight, patty mills is short ain’t gonna block jaylen brown lol.

It wasn’t every time he touched the ball at all. There was a lot of 1v1 defense. I’ve never seen KD turn the ball over so much. He was missing passes, he has butter fingers whenever he was trying to catch the ball. He was completely rattled. Every single Celtics player that guarded him defended him so well 1v1

True, Celtics figured out that KD being that tall is not a ball handler like Kyle Lowry, they just need to deflect his dribbling when he tries to dribble out in the perimeter.
