The semantics of the system is important, it makes it very clear what someone’s intent is and what it isn’t if the rule everyone agrees on is to use a specific word to signal it.

When one side is expecting that system to be the framework for the bet, and the other side opts not to, even though they’ve bet using this system for years, and then brings in a third party with an unfortunate amount of authority who has no actual betting precedent because they’ve never supported betting on the site before to rule on the situation, then you get outcomes like this.

List seems to be obsolete now so I guess mods can deal with every petty disagreement from now on.

If that is the case then why was I held to the letter of the law when I never made some systematic "cd" that I would donate a portion of my winnings?

I'm sure you remember I was scrutinized relentlessly for forgetting to do that. I didn't help myself by trying to argue and debate, I should have just immediately dropped it and paid out looking back.

I think that in this case you'll also find my past experience valuable. More resistance will probably just render you more pain.

You made it the worst for yourself when you tried to equate telling Hydro about a blind odds that resulted in him winning some fg as fulfilling your obligation to donate 3/4 of your winnings from the bracket challenge

My main issue with this is that Megatroniks immediately appealed to mods who don’t actually use this section and have historically not mediated betting disputes instead of trying to figure it out between us. I mean it’s within his right to do that, obviously, I’m locked, but again, when we’ve all kind of agreed on a way of doing things, and he then instead rejects that system after the fact (when he’s used it successfully tons of times before) and goes over our heads to deal with it, just kind of leaves a bad taste.

I’m still hoping we can work it out between us.

It's a slippery slope of we just let the "cool Gl" count as a Cd. This is why we have specific language and specific betting rules.

It's very hard to navigate intent. That is why we have rules.

In my opinion this isn't a bet and has come to the wrong conclusion and undermined us. Our rules are black and white. Eerock's ruling opens a door that I don't want any part of.

Izzo did himself zero favors by being a dick. Eerock does a lot of good work for this site but I completely disagree with his decision.

The s/a team spent years not giving a fuck about us and now all the sudden they want to regulate us.

What should have happened is Izzo should have agreed to be cucked by eerock and sent the 1500. Then megatroniks should have been gone on the welcher list if he refused to send back.

He welched the Jersey bet and should have been given a tag/banned from all blind odds for that one.

Why?

Izzo broke no betting rules. We don't need to cave to s/a mods. If they are going to rule against our rules then maybe we should move somewhere else.

They spent a decade ignoring us and now they care?

It’s not a matter of “ignoring you” in the past and all of a sudden “caring”. But once an issue makes it way to the Scammer Accusatons forum, the decision in the SA will supersede any unofficial rules put in place by the sub forum and its users. And while we do take into consideration these unofficial rules, they are not the only terms that we go by. Had the bet gone the other way where Izzo had won, and wasn’t being paid - the same logic would’ve been implemented to ensure that he was paid accordingly (if the topic made its way into the SA. If it didn’t, it gets left alone)
It was disclosed in the SA case how and why the decision was made - whether you agree with it or not is up to you, but the decision is final.
